Film Threat was founded in 1985 as a xeroxed fanzine by Chris Gore and Andre Seewood to support exposed independent filmmakers and expose the entertainment industry to the truth. On May 6, 1985, only 500 copies of the first issue were printed and distributed on the campus of Wayne State University.
