Domino Music was founded in 1993. Founder Lawrence Bell started the company in Putney in southwest London. Their ambitions, operational processes and spirit remain the same – representing and distributing music created by artists, they have no choice but to make music and attract outside attention. Domino Music's first album is Sebado's Soul and Fire, which introduces a new style of creative singer recording. In the late 1990s, they signed with four Tet, Clinic, James Yorkston and the Kills. In the past few years, they have also had a series of active collaborations with companies outside the music industry. These include the music magazine "Loops", which was published in collaboration with Faber & Faber, and a limited edition collection in collaboration with Uniqlo. What's more, they also created a publishing house and a week-long pop-up radio that contributed to the wider cultural landscape.
