AYSO is a non-profit organization and the oldest national youth football program in the United States. In 1964, composed of a small number of football fans, there were only nine teams in the beginning. Its six philosophies are the principle of distinguishing it from other sports organizations. These goals are to provide a positive, fair and fun football experience for all players. Their goal is to have children and adults play football, so every player on every team must be required to participate in at least 50% of each game. Each year, they build new teams that are as balanced as possible because they provide a stronger learning experience for the team. It also allows each player to experience a teammate with a variety of skill levels.
